Murmur Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Murmur is a voice-notes app for iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. This policy says what Murmur does with your information.

The short version

What Murmur stores

On your devices. Recordings, transcripts, notes, tasks and settings are stored on your iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. Your Apple Watch sends recordings to your iPhone directly.

Murmur Cloud (Murmur Pro subscribers). If you subscribe, your recordings and notes are stored in Murmur Cloud so they sync between devices and survive a lost phone. Murmur Cloud runs on Supabase in the United States. Each account's data is locked to that account. You sign in with Sign in with Apple, which can hide your email address from us.

Your own data layer (optional). If you connect your own server (a "Nucleus"), Murmur syncs to that server instead, and its owner controls the data.

Who processes your data

What we don't do

Deleting your data

In Murmur, go to Settings → Murmur Pro → Delete account. This permanently deletes your Murmur Cloud account and everything stored in it. Notes stored only on your devices are removed when you delete the app.

Children

Murmur is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
